A Tuna Management Plan and Harvest Strategy Workshop, jointly organised by the Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA) and the Pacific Community (SPC), was held in Tarawa from 13–17 April. The five-day workshop brought together fisheries official from the different divisions of the Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources (MFOR), including external stakeholders and fishing industries to review and finalize the Tuna Management Plan for Kiribati. The training on the Harvest Strategy greatly contributes to the capacity building of fisheries officials responsible for the management of tuna resources. The MFOR sincerely acknowledge and thank FFA and SPC for their invaluable support and technical expertise during the course of the TMP review and the Harvest Strategy Workshop. Appreciation is also extended to all participants for their active participation and valuable contributions which were vital to the success of the workshop.
