Two officers from the Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources traveled to the island of Arorae to carry out important fieldwork focused on marine resource management. Over the course of a week, they collected data on local fishing activities — including commonly used fishing spots, catch volumes, fishing methods, and other relevant practices — using the Ikasavea mobile app. This information is vital for shaping policies and guidelines to protect and sustain marine resources in Arorae and across Kiribati.
