Maiana Island Council Approves Private Sector Management for Giant clam Hatchery and Community Farming

In a significant step toward long-term sustainability, the Maiana Island Council has endorsed an innovative proposal presented by the MFOR team. Following a full council meeting on 26th June 2026, council members formally agreed to allow a private sector partner to operate and manage both the Mini Hatchery and community farming initiatives on behalf of the Maiana Island Council.
