MFOR welcomed the technical team engaged by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), together with a representative from Live & Learn NGO, for discussions on strengthening the implementation of Ara Marawa Policy.
The discussions focused on supporting the development of sector implementation plans under Ara Marawa Policy, recognizing that relevant government sectors and agencies will develop and implement actions within their respective mandates and areas of responsibility.
Particular attention was given to four areas supported through the ADB-engaged technical assistance:
1. Coastal Zone Protection and Adaptation
2. Climate-Resilient Coastal and Ocean Infrastructure
3. Sustainable Marine Tourism
4. Ocean Finance
Discussions also covered the development of an effective Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) framework, identification of priority actions and investment opportunities, strengthening coordination across government, and ensuring that the work supported through ADB contributes to the broader implementation of Ara Marawa Policy
As the coordinating Ministry of Ara Marawa Policy, MFOR looks forward to working with ADB-engaged technical team, relevant government sectors, and all relevant stakeholders to support a coordinated and practical approach implementing Ara Marawa Policy.
