Seafood Laboratory Strengthens Calibration Expertise

One officer from the Seafood Toxicology Laboratory division successfully completed calibration training at the Measurement Standards Laboratory (MSL) in Wellington, New Zealand, from 4–6 August 2026. The training covered key topics, including humidity concepts, temperature measurement, measurement and calibration principles, measurement uncertainty, and traceability within an ISO/IEC 17025 quality environment.
These principles are essential to ensuring laboratory equipment is fit for purpose and capable of producing accurate, reliable, and consistent results. The knowledge and skills gained will strengthen the Seafood Laboratory's technical competence and enhance confidence in its testing results.
On behalf of the Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources (MFOR), through the Seafood Laboratory, we sincerely acknowledge the World Bank, through the Pacific Regional Oceanscape Program (PROP), for its continuous funding support in making this important training possible.
