The Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources (MFOR), through its Oceanic Fisheries Division, sincerely thanks the PNA Office for facilitating a four-day Observer Training in Kiritimati Island from 20–24 August 2026.

The training equipped fisheries observers with essential skills in IFIMS (e‑reporting) for near real‑time catch reporting, life vest servicing, PLB activation, InReach communication, and practical sea‑safety exercises. Participants also took part in observer placement sessions to strengthen pre‑deployment preparation.

This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to enhancing the safety, professionalism, and operational readiness of Kiribati's fisheries observers. MFOR acknowledges PNAO's continued support and assistance to Kiribati in the MCS space.
